Steven Warren, President and Founder of D.R.E.A.M. is a graduate and former college student-athlete from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Sociology. After leaving Nebraska, Steven went on to play several years for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, and the AFL’s San Jose Sabercats and Arizona Rattlers.  Through his experience as a college and professional athlete, Steven came to realize young boys and girls are easily influenced by their “champions,” especially those in professional sports and entertainment, so he decided to give back using his experiences as motivation for others.

“Every day I wake up and thank God for showing me the path to have founded D.R.E.A.M. What a great feeling to be able to help impact someone’s life in a positive way and help bring change. Our hope is to see the youth we work with graduate, further their education, give back and become productive members in the community.”

football career for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers and the AFL’s San Jose Sabercats.  Forced into early retirement due to injury, he went to work as a Group Supervisor at San Mateo County Probation Department in the juvenile hall.  While working at juvenile hall, Kevin was inspired to devote more of his time to helping troubled youth.  He then founded the non-profit organization Keeping Youth Journeying Onward (KYJO) Group homes, through which he has been able to successfully touch and influence the lives of many young people.

“Growing up, my father was a tremendous influence and role model in my life. Because of my stable home and positive environment, I made it out of the tough streets of L.A., received my education and was able to do great things in athletics. After seeing many of the young men and women I grew up with fall short because of the lack of a positive home, I decided to give back and help other young people experience the same chance I was so blessed to have.”
